Section 106 Agreement Tower Hamlets

Article 106 agreements, also known as « planning obligations », are legally binding agreements that we enter into with a person or developer in connection with building permits. Agreements include financial or non-financial obligations for which it is necessary to offset or mitigate the effects of development. Any S106 agreement is bound by a concrete decision to apply for construction in the district. You can search for a location address or contract construction request number S106 inside Tower Hamlets in our online planning register. Our preferred payment method is BACS. Payments must indicate both the application number of the S106 agreement and the location address. Find out how you can make payments to the Council. It is the applicant`s responsibility to make payments on time and ensure that they are on time. Planning requirements vary depending on the size, impact and nature of the proposed evolution. We assess planning requests on a case-by-case basis to determine the degree of impact of the proposed evolution. Not all developments require commitments.

Projects funded by S106 are delivered to Tower Hamlets all the time. The following factsheets show a selection of projects completed or currently under planning obligations: for more information on the use of planning obligations, see the Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) and supporting documents:. . . .
